Project BECOMING – Training activity in Prague

From 11.04. to 15.04.22 the project partners met for the second transnational learning activity in Prague. First, the results of the service package for career and vocational guidance of low-skilled employees in SMEs were reflected, tested, and further refined. Furthermore, the upcoming tasks as well as concrete steps for the next project result, developing a kit consisting of an extensive portfolio of freely available materials and tools for the individual career planning and development of low-skilled employees, were elaborated and defined. For this purpose, the participants dealt, among other things, with different methodological and pedagogical approaches, as well as exchanged experiences with helpful online tools for the creation of educational materials and tested some of them. The next project meeting is planned for June this year in Pescara/Italy.

EMPOWER – Kick-Off-Meeting

Finally, we were able to meet in person in Schwerin at our project “Empower – Encouraging Migrant Women to seize their Potential and Opportunities in the World of Entrepreneurship” in the framwork of Erasmus+, which has already been kicked-off virtually in January this year.

With seven other partners from four different EU countries, we will develop a portfolio of tools for self-assessment and assessment of entrepreneurial competences in the framework of the Entrecomp model and a toolkit with learning and teaching material for teaching entrepreneurship specifically for women with a migrant background.

From 07.04. – 08.04.2022 we actively dealt with the EntreComp competence framework in a very pleasant and constructive working atmosphere. We reviewed the interviews with women with a migration background that we already conducted, exchanged experiences and new ideas, and discussed and coordinated the upcoming work steps and organizational issues.

Message in a Bottle: Training in Santander

“What you have to learn in order to do something, you learn by doing it.” (Aristotle)

During our training activity from 28.03. to 01.04.2022 in Decroly in Santander, the teachers, and learners of the three partner organizations did just that. With the approach of a growth-oriented way of thinking, which follows the theory of Carol Dweck (professor of psychology at Stanford University) that everyone can learn everything, we fundamentally dealt with the challenges of linking the analog and digital world and looked at learning types, learning methods and competence requirements (of the future). And all this not only theoretically, but also practically.

In the various settings, we tried out a variety of analog games, experimented with open-source learning programs and tools for creating learning games, and gathered valuable insights. What thematic and technological options can we best use to ensure that young people acquire basic skills for their lives in a playful way – through gamified learning – while at the same time not getting “lost” in the digital world?

After our active and instructive work week, we agreed that the most important thing is to strike a balance between analog and digital learning, and that joy and fun as motivational drivers must not be neglected to make the learning process successful and sustainable.

Everyone learned a lot. We will use the newly acquired skills and knowledge for our further work in the project.

Project Kick-Off

With a two-day kick-off meeting in Schwerin, we started our new project “VideoTeach” within the Erasmus+ programme. On board are eight partners from Finland, Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Turkey, Cyprus and the Czech Republic.

We will work together to create tools and resources for the production of high-quality educational videos to promote wider use of online, blended and distance learning. Based on their individual skills, teachers will be supported and motivated to produce their own videos efficiently and in good quality and to use them as a supplement in their teaching.

During our meeting, we agreed on the next concrete steps, discussed the development of a competence profile in terms of content and expertise, collected ideas and discussed and agreed on organisational issues.

Hybrid project start

Our next project within the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union has started: “DIGISCHOOL“. The Corona pandemic forced us to hold another hybrid meeting because some participants could not come to Schwerin in person as planned.

In a very productive round, we discussed the basic organisational issues with our partners from the Czech Republic, Spain and Italy, set deadlines and dealt with the concrete tasks for the first project result.

In the DIGISCHOOL project, we are jointly pursuing the goal of improving the digital skills of vocational school teachers and communicating the possibilities and advantages of digital teaching even after the end of the pandemic. In the first phase of the project, we will collect and publish case studies on the use of digital teaching materials with experts from the field.

New partnership

We are expanding our activities in Europe and have concluded a partnership agreement with Omnia in Cyprus. The company has been active for many years in the fields of education, social affairs and technology with numerous projects. Together we will develop and implement new interesting projects.

AGEADAPT: successful kick-off

The Erasmus+ project “AGEADAPT” began with a hybrid kick-off meeting in Schwerin. Participants from the project partners in Spain, Slovenia and the Czech Republic came to our state capital. A colleague from Poland, who could not attend in person due to time constraints, was connected via video.

In addition to administrative and organisational topics, the agenda also included the first concrete tasks that the project consortium will work on in the coming months: what good examples of successful age management already exist in small and medium-sized enterprises? What needs do older workers have and what can companies do to ensure that they stay longer in the company?

The project partners will try to answer these questions through extensive research and, above all, through interviews with experts in companies, associations and chambers. In spring 2022, the first result of the project will be a comprehensive comparative report on the situation in the participating European countries.

A guided tour of the city and a joint dinner ensured that the visitors were able to get to know the state capital and each other better.

In the end, everyone was very satisfied with the start of the project and happy that a personal meeting was possible despite the Corona-related restrictions.

growMET: Project meeting in Giulianova

On the 8th and 9th November 2021, the partners of the Erasmus+ project “growMET” met in Giulianova/Italy.

It was the first project meeting that could be attended in person. The kick-off meeting in March 2021 had to be held virtually because of the pandemic restrictions. All the participants in this meeting agreed that it is very important to meet and exchange. Erasmus+ is a program designed to bring people from different European countries together to work on some meaningful tasks.

Since we are working on three intellectual outputs nearly simultaneously, we used the chance to discuss the progress on the different areas and to agree on the next steps of work. Digital education will be an important part of education in the future, even if the pandemic will be over someday. The inherent benefits of this kind of learning were discussed in detail. Now it will be up to the partners and the next project activities to get this message to all points of the educational triangle: students, teachers and parents.

On the final day of the meeting, we also agreed on the dates for our next activities within the project.

Special thanks go to ilmiolavoro for the organisation of this meeting and the Liceo Scientifico “Marie Curie” in Giulianova for the hospitality and the extremely good coffee for the breaks!

BECOMING: Project meeting in Prague

On 4th and 5th November 2021, the partners from Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic met to exchange and agree on the state of the project and the next steps.

The preparatory tasks for the development of the first project outcome – a collection of vocational and career guidance services for low-skilled workers in SMEs – have been completed in the three participating countries and have produced interesting results. The very different labour markets in the countries also play a role. The presentation of the results led to intensive and lively discussions.

On the second day of the meeting, the participants agreed on the next concrete steps and an updated timetable. This includes the dates for the next project meetings and a workshop to test and disseminate the first project results in Prague next spring.

We thank the hosts from the INPRO Institute for their hospitality and the successful organisation of the meeting!

growMet: Workshop in Ljubljana

The first workshop of our Erasmus+ project “growMET” (Growth mindset in educational triangles) took place in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana last week.
Teachers from 5 countries – Slovenia, Italy, Romania, Germany and the Basque Country – dealt intensively with the methods and implications of the growth mindset theory.

The switch to a digital way of teaching, forced by the Corona pandemic, has often overwhelmed students, teachers and parents. Not only the use of technology and the often inadequate infrastructure have hindered teaching and learning, but also the almost complete lack of personal exchange.

In the workshop, we discussed and practised together ways of how motivating communication can also succeed in the digital space.

The results of the workshop are now being incorporated into an online training course, which our project will then make publicly available.
