Kick-off at the Black Sea

From 11 to 14 March, we visited our Turkish partner Paydaş Eğitim Kültür ve Sanat Derneği on the Black Sea to launch our new W-RETURN project.

Once we had got to know each other, we got to work on the project. Over the next 16 months, we want to offer customised support to women who want to return to work. The exchange between the German and Turkish women, which is part of our work plan, will make this project particularly interesting.

We are very impressed by the work of our partners in Zonguldak and are already looking forward to the return visit in July, when a group of Turkish women will come to Schwerin.

CraftAdapt: Could we still use it?

The kick-off meeting of our new Erasmus+ project CraftAdapt took place – atypically – in virtual form on 3 December 2024. Since COVID, we have always held these important first meetings in person.

But there were good reasons for this format: firstly, it saved us the emissions associated with travelling, and secondly, it was easier for everyone involved not to have to travel, especially in the busy pre-Christmas period.

Getting to know each other personally will now have to wait until the next meeting in spring 2025, but all the participants at the meeting had prepared very well and so we have at least internalised the topic of our project and the tasks ahead of us very well.

This project combines several very topical issues: the prevention of waste, its reuse and the modernisation of vocational training. At the same time, we want this project to contribute to increasing the interest of young people – especially those from disadvantaged groups – in economic independence.
